While the food was good, there was less of it. I got a grilled chicken salad, one of my all time favorite meals, only to get a half-filled bowl and no egg, or croutons. And we waited WAAY too long for our food. The waitress was trying and was friendly, but between waiting on multiple tables and bussing after people left, she was strapped. I don't know what was going on in the kitchen, but the wait was unacceptable. Cracker Barrel is making changes apparently, and we were not happy with what we experienced! Other customers were heard complaining, as well.

The biggest problem is the consistent lack of dusting. Heavy dust present on the fans above the dining tables and also on items displayed and the walls. I don't understand why these items are not cleaned every thirty days. Presentation of food ordered also lacking with plenty of oil on the main dish.

I thought I should make the review as I wait on my pregnant wife to stop getting sick in the bathroom after I paid. I'll simply say that after we placed the entree we waited a very long time and didn't get an explanation until like 2 minutes before the food arrived. The food came out with errors, like gravy choice, and the pancakes my wife received weren't strawberry, half over cooked, and tasted of chicken. It was like they made them in the same pan my country fried chicken was in. See picture for how they rectified the strawberry situation. Anyways, we walked in at like 12:40pm and I'm writing this at 2:30pm. Worst Cracker Barrel experience ever!

Had a great experience at Cracker Barrel! The food was delicious, fresh, and came out quickly. The staff was friendly attentive, and made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in The atmosphere was cozy and had that classic country charm, although it was a little busy. overall it was an excellent experience, and I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend

Stopped in at Cracker Barrel just off I-72 near Decatur, Illinois for lunch, and went a different route than usual. I ordered the vegetable plate with four sides, broccoli, baby carrots, collard greens with ham, and green beans. The broccoli was cooked just right, still had some firmness to it and not mushy. The carrots were simple and good, exactly what you expect when they’re done right. The green beans had that slow-cooked flavor, definitely not straight out of a can, they had some seasoning and depth to them. The collard greens with ham were the standout. Nice smoky flavor, well-seasoned, and clearly had some time put into them. I also had cornbread, which came out warm, a little crisp on the outside and soft on the inside, and a hot mocha with the meal. This was a good reminder that you don’t have to go heavy here to get a solid meal. The vegetable plate holds its own and actually brings more flavor than you might expect.
